High Fashion for Kids
Let’s face it: fashion for kids goes in and out of style just as often as fashion for adults, but a few pieces of apparel seem to have a perpetual place in the fashion spotlight. Wearing skinny jeans certainly flatters your figure and shows off your curves, but these models can definitely be cumbersome. If I’m going to a nightclub or on a date, I don’t find sacrificing looks for comfort. But when I am looking to relax and spend a casual afternoon with my friends, I don’t want to feel my jeans constricting around my lower body.

Looking back in history it’s easy to poke fun at the garb of bygone cultures. Togas, ruffles, powdered wigs, polyester—the litany of fashion fads that are now considered blunders is virtually endless. In this day and age, we tend to think that are fashion senses are highly evolved, but in 100 years people will indubitably look back on the garments of today with amusement.
Today there is certainly a wider range of options available to the public—from skirts, dresses and leggings, to collared shirts, tank tops and sweats. For all of the options now available to us, however, a t-shirt and a pair of jeans is the basic uniform for the majority of the population. I know that my closet is suffused with womens jeans of all styles.

I worked hard to lose weight, and when I reached my goal weight of 130 pounds, I wanted to go out and show myself off. But many of my pants were too big and just didn’t flatter my adorable little figure. I searched through my wardrobe to no avail. There was nothing that fit me!

I was one of those girls who hit their growth spurt early and was towering above the boys in my fifth grade class. At the time, I was poised to be over six feet tall, but I have barely grown an inch since then and stand at a diminutive 5’3”. While some people may see this as a hindrance, being small in stature has certain advantages.
